ARTIST STATEMENT
My work is based on sex and the human body. Sex is considered taboo and shunned by modern culture, so I use my work to celebrate or embrace the human body through mixed-media sculpture, painting, and photography. As humans, we were born to mate, but we were also born to be pleased. We all have wants, needs, and kinks, I'm here to spread those kinks and explore those pleasures.
ABOUT COURTNEY
Courtney Ryno is a visual fine artist from Columbia PA. She received her Minor in Fine Arts at Northampton Community College in 2023. Courtney is currently working full time as a paraeducator for Columbia Borough School District and part time in retail at DSW (designer shoe warehouse). After hours she heads to her studio located in her home town of Columbia, working on 2D and 3D pieces that involve a lot with texture and textiles. Courtney's art includes topics like sex and the human body inside and out, manipulating the bodies size, shape and texture.
THE PURPOSE OF ART IS TO LAY BARE THE QUESTIONS THAT HAVE BEEN CONCEALED BY THE ANSWERS.
